1. Ordinary Heroes Display Opens Feb. 5 at History Museum

    Join the History Museum for Springfield-Greene County on Sunday, February 5, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for Sunday at the Museum, an opening reception for a new exhibit: Ordinary Heroes: One Hundred Plus Years of Those who Protected and Served Springfield and Greene County. This event is free and open to the public.

    There will be several special features for Sunday at the Museum, including a short program at 1:30. There will also be a variety of historic and modern police, sheriff and fire vehicles on the Old City Hall Parking lot for that day only. The exhibit will showcase the heroic men and women who have protected and served the citizens throughout Greene County’s history Springfield Police Department, the Springfield Fire Department, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be featured. This exhibit will showcase the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of these departments.

    The exhibit will be open from Tuesday, February 7, through Saturday, May 14. Museum hours are 10:30 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday and the 2nd Saturday. The museum is a not-for-profit organization. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 for adult and $1.00 for children. The Museum is located on the 3rd floor of Old City Hall, 830 N. Boonville, Springfield, MO 65802.
