The holidays are upon us and that means it’s time for specials and treats at Springfield’s eateries. Here’s a small sample.
For a traditional meal, check out the turkey or ham steak dinner at Village Inn with mashed potatoes, dressing, vegetable, salad and pumpkin pie for only $9.99 Dec. 19-24. Village Inn has two locations in Springfield - 2036. S. Glenstone Ave. and 4222 S. Campbell Ave.
For not so traditional, a Big Box Dinner from Pizza Hut might be just what you need. The deal includes two pizzas, wings, breadsticks and dipping sauce for only $19.99.
Top it off with dessert from The Cup, featuring limited-edition specials: The Peppermint Stick and Black Forest Cake. The Peppermint Stick is red velvet and peppermint swirled cake with vanilla mint buttercream frosting topped with pearl sprinkles, mini white chocolate chips and a candy cane. The Black Forest Cake is dark chocolate cake with cheesecake filling and topped with vanilla buttercream and cherries. All cupcakes at The Cup are decorated for the holidays for two weeks prior to Christmas. Drop in Christmas Eve for a free cup of Kaldi’s coffee with your cupcakes.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a restaurant open Christmas Day in Springfield so if you’re dreaming of a holiday feast out, you should do it before the big day arrives!Touch, however, will have a brunch buffet from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Christmas Day and the lounge will be open from 8 p.m.-close.
