Festival of Lights Features Dozens of Holiday Events

Springfield’s annual Festival of Lights celebration is under way.

It’s that time of year for free ice skating at Mediacom Ice Park, horse-drawn carriage rides, “The Nutcracker” at the Landers Theatre, the Christmas Parade, caroling in the newly renovated Park Central Square and much more! Many activities and events are free.

The six-week holiday celebration concludes on Jan. 31 with First Night, an alcohol-free New Year’s Eve celebration at multiple venues in downtown Springfield.
